Delete your TripTribe account
You're always in control of your TripTribe account. This page explains both ways to request deletion, exactly what gets deleted, and what we retain and why.
Subscribed to TripTribe Pro? Cancel it in Google Play first
Deleting your TripTribe account does not cancel your Google Play subscription, and it does not refund it. The subscription keeps renewing and Google Play keeps charging you on its normal schedule until you cancel it in Google Play.
Manage your subscriptions in Google Play, or follow Google's steps to cancel a subscription on Google Play.
Option 1 — From inside the app (fastest)
Open TripTribe, go to Profile → Delete Account, confirm you understand the action is irreversible, and re-enter your password. Deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no additional email step.
Option 2 — No access to the app
If you've lost access to the app (uninstalled it, lost the device, or forgot your password), enter the email address on your account below. If an active account exists for that address, we'll send a link to confirm the deletion request. Nothing is deleted until you open that link and confirm — the request alone does not delete anything.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account, through either option above, immediately and permanently removes:
- Your email address, display name, and password
- Your profile photo (avatar)
- Your Travel DNA preferences (budget, pace, interests, dietary needs, etc.)
- Your active login sessions and refresh tokens on every device
If you still own a trip
You can't delete your account while you're still the owner of an active trip — transfer ownership to another member or delete the trip first. This applies to both options above: in the app, you'll see this as an error before anything is deleted; through the emailed link, you'll see it after you confirm, and deletion won't complete until you resolve it. Nothing else about your account is affected while this is pending.
What is retained, and why
Trip content you created together with other members — shared itinerary items, expenses, activity votes, and documents you uploaded to a shared trip — is not deleted. Removing it would corrupt the shared trip record for every other member of that trip. Instead, it is kept and re-attributed to an anonymized "Deleted User" placeholder that can no longer be linked back to you.
Subscription and billing history (for example, which product you purchased and when) is retained after account deletion for financial record-keeping. It is no longer linked to any account you can access.
For the complete data-handling picture, see the app's Privacy Policy, specifically its "Data retention and deletion" section.
Request deletion by email
Still have the app installed? Option 1 above is faster and needs no email round trip. Otherwise, use this form:
